Give what you get...

You never know what is going to be an identifier when you are working with Spirit.
Every time you need to trust spirit and give what you are given.   No matter how strange, obscure or odd it may seem.  It isn't meant for you, It is for the person the message is meant for it will resonate.
Trust me what you are getting will make no sense whatsoever to you -- it may even perplex you.   Remember to take yourself out of it and just give what you get.  Let it flow through you.
Let me give you an example of a situation that happened to me at the Stump at Lily Dale some time ago.  The message I have long forgotten that I gave to the woman.  I will never forget the identifier... a parakette that felt it necessary to only say the word "Sh*t" and it was a persistent little thing.

It would march back and forth in front of me saying "Sh*t. Sh*t, Sh*t". I would run it off and it would return, time and time again. I finally heard someone coming down the path to the Stump, It was Dr. Neal and he was chairing.  He asked if I was there to work and I told him I was. As he wrote down my info, I told him about the parakette. Neal told me not to worry about it as the first time that served at Forrest Temple he had a parrot and no one would would take it.

I was the first medium Dr. Neal called to serve. After my prayer I stated "I usually don't work like this but can anybody take a blue parakeete, it's language isn't the best."  A young lady raised her hand and I told that there was a gentelman  with the bird. and gave her the message.

After the service she told me that that was her bird and that she had been trying to teach it to say "Sh*t" and it would say is "Shoos".  I then assured her that he had learned it perfectly!

Is Spirituality a Religion or a way of life?

Religion comes up often when talking about Spirituality.   Let's start with the definition of both of these words from the Merriam-Webster's Learner's Dictionary:

Simple Definition of religion

  • : the belief in a god or in a group of gods
  • : an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods
  • : an interest, a belief, or an activity that is very important to a person or group

Simple Definition of spirituality

  • : the quality or state of being concerned with religion or religious matters : the quality or state of being spiritual

Many in the Spiritual community try and define Spirituality as a Religion.   Personally I believe Spirituality is a way of life.  If you are truly Spiritual you do not need an organized religion to regulate your behavior.  You are living within the laws of Natural Law and thereby are living at peace with nature and the world around you.

Setting your priorities straight....

Saw this awhile ago, it made an impact on me.  I hope you find value in this as well.  Too often our priorities are all messed up.
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.  They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.

The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.   He then asked the students again if the jar was full.   They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.  Of course, the sand filled up everything else.   He asked once more if the jar was full..  The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed..  'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car..  The sand is everything else---the small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life.  If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.  Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children.

Spend time with your parents.

Visit with grandparents.

Take your spouse out to dinner.

Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.  Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter.   Set your priorities.  The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented.  The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

How are you going to change your day?

When we start the day on a positive note it will fortify us all day.
So if we just happen to trip on a pebble we can smile and know that it was a minor inconvenience not the end of the world.

Have a Great Week!

As we start the week we all hope that the week goes smoothly for us.
We all encounter some parts that are on the rough side for us. May we approach it with the curiosity of what we may learn from it and experience the joys of life that gives us the inner peace we all search for.
Always accept an attitude of gratitude.
