Don't let a few bumps in the road stop you!

Meals on Wheels Fundraising

At the beginning of the summer we had an idea -- let's raise some money for the Sinclairville Meals on Wheels program that does great good and could use additional monies to help them get a much needed new van to deliver those meals.

They are currently deliver meals to shut ins with 3 vans and cover a very large area here in Chautauqua County.  One of those vans is on it's "last leg".  The Sinclairville 76er's do the preparing and delivering of the meals as well as provide a senior nutritional site.  This is all done with volunteers and donations.

Whisper at the Whiskey was born with the efforts of myself, Kim Coon (owner of Whiskey Hill Saloon) and several talented Mediums.  These Mediums took time from their lives to give back to those who help others.

Kim offered her place of business so we could accomplish this.  A huge Thank You to all who participated.   The $250 we raised will help with their goal of a new van.

Something to think about....

I heard a "TELLING" taught to me   I want to share it with you....

When I was young I saw a Drunk passed out on the Street
He could have been anyone anywhere
The Elder put 10 dollars into his shirt pocket
I asked the "ELDER" I was escorting to an event
HOW could you give that "DRUNK 10 bucks?
He will just use it for booze?

The Elder said to me so by giving this man you do not know 10 dollars I have feed your preconceived notions.   You are my escort for a reason and here is the lesson for you.   I know this man and he has had a very rough life.   He lost his family.  He lost everything he held dear.  He probably drinks to forget his pain.

I gave him the 10 bucks in the hope that when he awakens he will grab a hot meal and perhaps someone like you will meet him and buy him a coffee and perhaps if you are lucky enough he will share his story...

Later that day I ran into this man and hearing the Elders words I did buy him a coffee, and we sat and talked....  He talked about finding 10 dollars in his pocket that morning as he Prayed to the Creator for a sign to get healthy and he wished for some food when he awoke.

I was shocked at how such a simple act of kindness by my Elder had unimagined consequences to such a foolish man as me and the person that had received the 10 dollars. I shared with him some contact numbers to get help and said it was nice to meet him and wished him well on his journey.

A few months later I again saw this man when he came to renovate my friends house. As I watched him work I saw the pride he took in his work and asked him Why?  He answered that to work with his hands is a reflection of his character and so he tries to do the best job that he can.   He told me of how one simple act a few months before helped him turn his life around.

After he was done we smudged and I thought as the smoke rose to the sky. I learned a valuable lesson to not judge a man .... as we all have our story and we can all be the change

Stay the Course....

You may never know why these people try to control you, but I'm sure it is based on a lacking of themselves.
We need to greet each day with a smile and not let the actions of others affect our own truths.

Let's talk about Truth....

When confronted with the Truth, accept it.

Don't make excuses and accept those Truths as they are.

Tomorrow everything may change, but that my friends is life.

Are you thinking for yourself?

We are being brainwashed by the corporate media.  There are so many serious situations going on that we the people should know that effect our daily lives, but the media draws our attention to the Zieka Virus, Bird Flu, etc.

They are also promoting hate and violence by just showing violent Black people in the street.  Right or wrong, however you feel, they are trying to divide us.

When is the last time that you saw a whole news program dedicated to showing Love for you fellow man?  Never!  We are living in a Corrupt World and the media is feeding it with the lies they give us daily.

As a country we have gone from most loved to most hated and it is our fault because we let it happen.

Value Yourself!

Too often I see people that get manipulated into doing things that others are too afraid to do themselves.

Don't get trapped in that mess.  It is hard enough to get through life on our own terms.   There are those that would rather have others do their bidding and sit back and be of no assistance.

Value yourself and walk away from these type of people!

Another Great Day Serving Spirit....

Yesterday I had the honor of working at one of the most unique venues in Western New York - The Tonawanda Castle.    I was part of their annual Psychic Fair and it was an amazing day.   Not only did I give private readings, Colleen Kulikowski and I did our first Gallery Show together.

We were set up in the Captain's room and we enjoyed every minute of giving private messages to those who were guided to us.

We had 41 people in the room and we gave put 23 messages of love to those that were in the room... To the folks that run this event you did an amazing job!    It was great to see so many wonderful friends and make some new ones along the way...

I look forward to the next event with this group!

Be Courageous!

Dedicated to my Mom and Dad....

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb.   He said that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him.  I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I wasn't busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.  On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked if he had another doctors appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.   The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.  I enquired as to her health.   He told me that she has been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.  He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in 5 years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, "and you still go every morning, even through she doesn't know who you are?"

He smiled as he patted my head and said "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."

I had to hold back the tears as he left.  I had goose bumps on my arms and thought, that's the kind of love I want in my life.

True love is neither physical or romantic.  True Love is an acceptance of all that is, has bee, will be and will not be.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything.  They just make the best of everything that that have.

I hope this resonates with you as much as it does for me.  We are all getting older.  Tomorrow may be our turn.

This is for my stepmother who suffered with Alzheimer's and my dad who lovingly took care of her...

I love you Mom & Dad

Gratitude is EVERYTHING!

When we adopt an attitude of gratitude we begin to appreciate all of the wonders of this world.
Sometimes it is the small of things that bring the biggest smiles to our face.  It may be the thoughtfulness of a friend or neighbor.  Then again it may just be the joy you gain from helping others.  What ever we can be grateful for will always serve us well.
