What walls are you going to break down?

Sometimes we build walls which we feel will protect us from some situation, only to find they have become a prison.

The hard part now is how do dismantle this prison we have built.  It depends on the courage we have to start removing each brick. The task at hand is a matter of determination and how bad we want to over come our situation.

The stages of grief are never the same for two people...

There is not a time limit on grief.  Each of us will deal with it in a different manner, so don't let anyone tell you to get over it.

Grief and Healing

Life is hard and unfair. Once you accept that and stop struggling to make it work differently, you can focus on the good parts. And there are lots of them. Give them your energy - not the hard, unfair bits.  Healing is personal. Grief is personal. Time doesn't seem to heal; it just seems to soften the pain.

What is the difference between Memorial, Armed Forces and Veteran's Day?

Just a reminder that this Monday is Memorial Day - often confused with Veterans Day - but sadly so different.
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces.
Many Americans celebrate Armed Forces Day annually on the third Saturday of May. It is a day to pay tribute to men and women who serve the United States' armed forces. Armed Forces Day is also part of Armed Forces Week, which begins on the second Saturday of May.
Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11, that honors military veterans, that is, persons who served in the United States Armed Forces.
