Compassion is hard for many people. Perhaps it is because they have not seen it in action. It is the simple acts of kindness and compassion that mean the most to people.
Compassion is simply concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. You do not have to do much to be compassionate.
Compassion is the response to the suffering of others that motivates a desire to help. Remember it is not what we think that will help but the person we have the compassion for that matters.
Sometimes compassion is simply sitting quietly listening to the person and allowing them to work through the problem or situation. Sometimes it is lending a hand. Other times, compassion is not judging the person for where they stand at the moment.
